I probably watched Madoka magica for the first time in middle school maybe? My dad showed it to me, ever since he's basically said it was a masterpiece. After that I've seen the show multiple times, it's not something I always rewatch over and over, but its a comfort to go back to occasionally and watch sometimes. I feel most attached to Homura, but Madoka comes after that. Their clearly romantic relationship builds up over the course of the show and movies, bringing me great comfort to know how much they love each other and how far Homura would really go for Madoka. They have both a strong platonic and romantic bond, I truly believe Homura would not have spent so long trying to save Madoka if she was not the love of her life.
Homura Homura, while chronologically 26 after her repeated timeloops, is still physically and mentally 14. She's repeated her life, the same events, over and over all to save her Madoka. At the beginning of the show, shes seen as a stoic strong cold character. Once you see more of her character, you realize how much she truly cares for Madoka. At the beginning of her timeloops, she was just a shy girl with a lack of confidence, who was in the hospital for heart disease.
